.WTV is the new Windows Media Center recording format in Windows 7. It replaces .DVR-MS

AVS Converter does not recognize .WTV

At the moment the possibility to support WTV files is considered by our developers. You would help them a lot, if you could send us one of your WTV files. For the instruction please refer to the support page.

Thank you for your suggestion

Since Windows 7 is officially releasing next Thursday I think support for the new .WTV video format would be very helpful. If you need samples I can send them to you.

Is there any update on this? I'm tossing up between this and digital media converter pro which already has support for .wtv files. Any ideas when a version supporting this will be out?

It might take a couple of months before support for WTV files is added. It will be possible to convert WTV files on Windows 7 only. Our developers are working on this issue at the moment.

Best regards

I'm still waiting a couple of month (since 10/2009) for that feature.
Is there a schedule for it?

Hello,

I can assure you that our developers are working on this format. It will be added to one of the next versions of AVS Video Converter. Unfortunately, we cannot say for certain when it will be released. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards.

Has anyone realized that with a right mouse click in windows 7 that you can convert a wtv to a ms-dvr? I get everything OTA, so I don't have any DRM on my files.

Hope this helps.

I would say it is a good work around - convert wtv to dvr-ms in Windows 7 and then you will be able to convert dvr-ms file to DVD and other formats with AVS Video Converter.

Reagrds.

This would be a possible workarround, but converting the dvr-ms format into another format, the audio is allways running out of sync :(

Do you have the latest version AVS Video Converter 6.4.4.420? most out of synch bugs have been fixed in it.

Is there a roadmap for the AVS Video Converter? If so, where is wtv format in it? It would be quite convenient to have.

Hello,

I'm sorry to say that our plans have been changed and WTV format will not be added for support in AVS Video Converter in the nearest future. We are sorry if it may be of any inconvenience.

Best regards.
