when converting avi files to DVD using either AVS Video Converter or AVS DVD Authoring, my computer crashes midway thro' the conversion.

What is happening and how can I complete the conversion?

Are you using the latest version of the program?

Please could you explain what is happening exactly. Do you get any error or the program hangs? Attach a screenshot of the error. Also open your file in the program, choose the preset, click on Advanced > File Information and attach a screenshot of this window. Attach detailed information about your PC system.

Hope to hear from you soon

I am using version 6.2 and have had no problems until recently. I like version 6.2. Usually.
There is no error message, the computer just crashes a few minutes after the conversion begins. This is using both Video Converter or DVD Authoring.

Try reinstalling the software completely:
1. Go Start> All Programs> AVS4YOU> Uninstall.

2. Go Start> Run... Print regedit in the opened window and click Ok. In the opened Registry Editor window please find and delete all AVS4YOU folders.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).

3. Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > AVS4YOU (delete it).
Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > Common Files> AVSMedia (delete it).
Go Local Disc (C:) > Documents and Settings > All Users > Application Data > AVS4YOU (delete it).

Now install the latest versions of the programs anew on your PC.

Best regards
