When I add a image or video overlay to my video, the main audio on the video decreases during the overlay period. Is there a way to prevent that from happening?

This is a known problem and our developers are working on a solution at the moment.

So I've got a video with audio. I'm putting an overlay on it, but when I do the audio from the original file reduces while the over lay is on. The overlay is just a picture with obviously no audio. How do I keep the original audio from dropping in volume?

As already said above, the problem really exists. It will be corrected in the next version of AVS Video Editor.
The release is planned for April.

For the moment, as a workaround, you can split your main video at the beginning of the video overlay and at its end and then apply the Amplify effect to this video portion (the overlay is put on) to increase the volume.

Kind regards

I found a solution to this problem.

From the edit menu, select "Volume and Balance..."

This brings up a window with three volume level bars. The first is for the "Main Video" line, the second is for the "Video Overlay" line, and the third for the "Audio Mix" line. If you take the middle bar and drag it to zero, it seems to fix the issue. Strangely, after you put it back to 100 it still seems to be keep it going at the correct volume level. Perhaps playing around with these volume level bars "resets" how the program looks at volume?

Yes, that's true. Thank you for sharing this workaround. It must be really helpful, in case you use images as overlays.

Have not reproduced this on my part.

Video Editor 4.2.1.188 Overlay issue

When I add the Overlays to the video (Multiple ones) it reduces the volume of my audio tracks. Is there a way to fix this or prevent this from happening?
thanks

Hello,

To avoid the problem you should adjust the balance of audio tracks and video overlay using Volume and Balance button on Timeline.

Regards.
