I am trying to open the index.bdmv on a Blu-ray disc that is not copy protected and I get.

I am running the current version of AnyDVD and the current version of your software.

I takes a long time and looks like it will read the file then a message pops up:

"Range check error"

What am I doing wrong?

I just tried this on another Blu-ray disk "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and it did open the file and is converting it right now...

It did not work on "Cars" or "Ratatouille" I have AnyDVD running so there is no copy protection problem.

I ripped a BluRay on to my harddrive using AnyDVD. When I try to open the INDEX.BDMV using AVS Video Converter I get a file format error. I have tried to open the individual .m2ts files and I can open all of them but the first one, which is 26,492,742KB. I get the same error trying to open that one.

Is there a limit to the size of the file?

Please download the updated version of AVS Video Converter from our website and install the program. If you still get file format error when trying to import the largest .m2ts file, please send us a part of this file. This would help us to fix the problem. I have performed the "Check for Updates" and it says I am fully updated? Do I need to re-install the product all over again?

Also, I received your support email about cutting the file down to a 500MB version, but the application you provide crashed? I sent a response email to your support person but have not received a response yet.

Please note that I have tried other products that can convert these files and they work, albeit I am not happy about the options/quality of the conversion. So I know the file format is valid. I would prefer to use your product.

As follow-up to my previous post, I followed your download link and re-installed the converter product. The version # matched my previous install version, and I still get the same FILE FORMAT ERROR.

I can not provide you a sample as your "Extractor" tool crashed.

Yes, I have received your e-mail with the screenshot of the error. There are a couple of questions we need to clear up in this respect:
- Is the Blu-ray disc played fine on your PC?
- Do you use the latest version of AnyDVD?
- Try not only removing the copy-protection, but also copying the disc onto your hard drive first and only then import index.bdmv into AVS Video Converter. In case you get the range check error, try to import the largest .m2ts from the disc. What is the result?
- Try to copy (not move, but copy) the largest m2ts file into another folder on your hard disc. Do you manage to copy the file?
- If yes, once again try to extract a part of this file using AVS M2TS Extractor. If you have success, please send us a part of this file.

Also, I bought a copy of Batman Begins on BluRay and for some strange reason the 00000.m2ts file doesn't play the right video through AVS Converter. It plays the right sound track, but the picture looks to be "behind the scenes" pictures.

When I try other converters it works fine?

Posted the same issue today since no reply was made on this thread. Using the latest software, fresh install on a new Vista SP2 machine, same errors as you "mbeggs."

AVS4YOU Keeps giving me an error reading multiple index.bdmv files on all my blurays. I can however read the first 000.m2ts file but that is not acceptable since it encodes with the wrong audio many times, or doesn't encode the whole movie. I am trying to convert to a HD AVI file.

I have attached one example.

Information:
- Vista 32bit, SP2
- AVS Video Converter version 6.3.3.371
- File attempting to load, index.bdmv from multiple BluRays, two are attached.
- ANYDVD, current version, updates daily.

Update, loaded the current AVS4YOU on an XP Pro Machine with SP3, same error.

Tried on another laptop with Vista SP1, same error on various BluRays.

On both machines I did a fresh transfer using AnyDVD current version.

Boy, having a heck of a time with this program, paid for it in full and have a key, have uninstalled an re-installed the version 6.3.3.371 many times on multiple machines.

On my Vista Ultimate, SP2 machine I have got it to read Bluray index.bdmv files, but, when rendering to AVI file I get the following runtime error.

What shall I do? I'd like to do a complete uninstall of this program (including registry files) but have not found complete instructions yet. Maybe that would help or someone knows how to fix the specific error.

Possibly your discs have Blu-ray Disc Java specification?

If not, could you send us some of the files from your disc. This would help us to clear up the problem. I will contact you per e-mail with the further instructions.
