I'm converting a folder of mp3's to a lower bit rate. Program crashes when any song reaches 100%.

System specs:
vista ultimate 64x SP2
3gb ram
intel core 2 quad cpu

Looks like a dll is causing the issue: MSVCR80.dll

Please let me know if there is a fix.

How many files are you trying to convert? Please could you zip and attach one of these files here.
Also specify the exact preset you select when converting the files.

This is the same problem which I am facing as DerrickE....I am sure that there is some "bug' which needs to be fixed.

Doing what you had advised also did not fix the same.

I have sent ALL details ie

a)PC Config
b)Sample files
c)Screen shots of the error messages

I'm trying to convert 8 songs, but I've tried 1 at a time, 4 at a time, it doesn't make any difference. I've also tried it on other songs as well, not just these. Several times it has popped up the Conversion Complete message, but then it still crashes. Most of the time it doesn't not even get that far. Also for the dll, the application should be adding/getting it from the WinSxS folder. I had to remove the file you sent me earlier b/c it broke several other programs.

Preset is: For Media Player
Attached are some songs that it crashes on.

Perhaps those songs were probably not the best to send you as an example because they have issues with the ID3 length is incorrect. Your program sees the correct length though so that shouldn't be the problem. I have tested it with other mp3's that have no issues, and it still crashes.

The problem has been tested in full by our testing team and the bug has been reproduced. It will be fixed in the next version of AVS Audio Converter. Unfortunately, the deadline is not yet determined, so I would not conjecture.

So let me get this right... The convertor doesnt work but they sell it anyhow??? I have this exact problem and it is 10 days after the original post. That means the 40 usd I spent for this was a total waste... LOL then you thanking them for all the good work??? Are you kidding me???

heck in 10 days I would expect the entire program to be rewritten... When do we get a working product for the money we spent or are we getting refund till you can patch it???

AVS Audio Converter is functional in whole. There are just problems with particular files or the program may have problems working on few particular PC's. It is not possible always re-write the program for every file. Our developers are working on the update which will fix all these problems. We apologize for the inconvenience caused!
