Trace of Echoes is where this whole weird chase starts, and if you're hunting the Crab With the Knife pet in Diablo 4, that drop matters more than your DPS flex. I've seen people spam the wrong tier, then blame RNG like the game personally insulted them. Before you even mess with Seer Nevma, make sure your gear, glyphs, and u4gm Diablo 4 items setup can farm Kurast Undercity on Torment 8 without turning every room into a funeral. The short version: farm Torment 8+ Undercity, get Trace of Echoes, talk to Seer Nevma in Temis, enter through the Sightless Eye, hit Tier 60 in Echoing Hatred before dying, then claim the achievement reward manually.

How to unlock the Crab With the Knife pet in Diablo 4
I'd treat this less like a normal pet unlock and more like a hidden endgame checklist. Kurast Undercity is the first gate, and Torment 8 seems to be the floor for Trace of Echoes. Don't push Torment 10 just to look tough if your clears get slow; more runs per hour beats bigger numbers on the screen. Once Trace of Echoes drops, head to Temis and talk to Seer Nevma, because her new quest option won't pop if the item isn't in your inventory.

Where Trace of Echoes drops and why speed matters
The annoying part? Nobody has a clean public drop rate for Trace of Echoes right now, so take any “it's 1% bro” claim with a grain of salt. I burned through a stack of runs on a fast Spiritborn loadout, and the difference between a 4-minute clear and a sloppy 8-minute clear felt huge over a full session. That tracks with how Diablo 4 hides a lot of chase stuff behind volume. If your build can delete packs but gets clipped by elites, tune it down and farm cleaner.

Also, don't talk to Seer Nevma early and assume the quest is bugged. No Trace, no special dialogue. Temis is just the handoff point, not the start of the grind. The Sightless Eye is where the quest points you next, and that's when the run stops being a farm route and starts being a survival check.

Echoing Hatred Tier 60: build for not dying
Here's the thing though: Echoing Hatred doesn't care that your tooltip damage looks spicy if you faceplant at Tier 59. The Pandemonium achievement asks you to reach Tier 60 before dying, so your loadout needs capped resistances, armor that isn't embarrassing, and some kind of panic button. Unstoppable skills are a big deal here, because one crowd-control chain can end the run before you even know what happened. I'd rather lose 12% damage and gain a real defensive layer than gamble on a glass cannon push.

Pets don't hand you combat power, and the crab won't fix a bad build. It's cosmetic first, with the usual pet-style utility like grabbing gold or materials if that behavior is active for your account. But let's be honest, a tiny crab carrying a knife through Sanctuary is exactly the kind of dumb trophy I want following me after a sweaty Tier 60 clear. Not gonna lie, it's funnier than half the prestige cosmetics in the game.

Why didn't the Pandemonium achievement give me the crab?
Don't panic if the Crab With the Knife pet doesn't pop beside you after the Echoing Hatred run. As of the current patch, the reward sits in the achievement rewards page, and you have to claim it yourself after Pandemonium triggers. Group rules are still a little fuzzy, so I'd play it safe and assume each player needs to meet the survival check personally. If you're stocking up through buy Diablo 4 items U4GM or just grinding everything yourself, the real no-brainer is the same: farm Torment 8 fast, don't die before Tier 60, and check the achievement tab be
