I am just a trial user, without a registration, as I heard good thing about this software, however I've been crashing left right centre without abling to complete some of the conversion I tried.

I'm trying to convert an avi (DivX/Xvid compatible) into m4v (H.264/AVC Advanced Video Coding), but I've tried a few different ones and they tend to stop randomly. Then with a box popup saying, "AVSVideoConverterHost Server has stopped working", I have attached the details of what it says in the error box in txt file. Then once I clicked close another box pop-up saying, Access violation at address 004D2F1A in module 'AVSVideoConverter.exe'. Read of address 00000028.

Also from watching the preview windows, it seems it doesn't read the italic scripting as italic but instead acutally typing out the script itself, does that just happened on the non-register version?

I already posted an "email" to the support, but it seems like answers are quicker here. I've also uploaded the error "report" into text form here.

Just to add. I've actually had this problem before I actually reported. I had done the uninstalled steps. Before I reported this problem. I actually went as far as reinstalled the whole computer, and this still happened.

I have tried it a couple more times since I posted this, while I'm waiting for you reply. It seems that my error is always to do with the converter host. With or without subtitles. And it doesn't close the program after the error. Instead it says it has completed. Obviously the file does not work.

Hello,

Sorry for the late response.

There may be a problem in our software converting certain avi files. Could you please specify the origin of the files you are trying to convert? Please attach a screenshot of AVS Video Converter>Advanced>Convertion options, so that we could see all conversion parameters.

Also, please specify your PC configuration - Operating System, CPU, Ram, computer vendor.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards.

Thank you!

My source files are from internet BTs.

After reading your reply, I tried one that had worked before and it not longer works. This actually got to around 90 odd percent. Exactly the same error as the one sent in originally. I actually had a slightly different error yesterday, when I tried it with another file, it was still the hostconverter thing crashing, but with a different module error, it was something like msr80. And sometimes after closing the windows, it have errorcode: 66535, or something like that. I also had had other error codes before, from memory it is 6 & 13.

Mine is a self-built PC
Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate
Switched from Chinese to English
Intel Core i5-2400
8.0 GB RAM

The thing is it worked fine when I first downloaded it for trial. I forgotten about it. Then one day I remember it, and when I tried again, this just basically keeps happening, even though I done nothing to it and with it for weeks. So after that I tried uninstalling, reinstalling and went as far as reinstalling the whole computer, and it hasn't solve the problem. I mean every time I uninstall, I reinstall with a fresh download from your site. I don't see where I'm going wrong?! But I have to say, I did download a pirate copy in between when it didn't work, and the pirate copy had this same problem...

If there are anything else needed, I'll be happy to provide.

Regards

Please note that you download and use pirate copies of our software on your own risk.

First of all I'm asking you to reinstall AVS software following the instructions from this link.

Also, please disable Intel Media codec in AVS Video Converter>Settings>Processing>Codecs>Intel Media>Disabled in drop down list.

After doing this you should restart the program and try converting (producing) video once again. Please inform about the results.

Regards.

I am trying to convert a video file. I get the message Overall Progress 0:00%.

However, the Time Elapsed keeps changing to show me that time is passing.
By now it is over 14 minutes.

Please Advise.

Could my virus check have an effect on the program?

I don't think it's a virus...

It may be alo the issue with codecs. Please try installing k-lite codec pack on your computer.

I tried my virus checker, I don't think it's that either.

Installed the codec. Tried it once before restarting and again after restarting. Still same old problem:

The program itself never crashes. I choose close the program. Then that window goes away and the Conversion is completed! box pops up, as if nothing has happened. And sometimes the Access Violation at address box pops up.

Sorry for the late response.

I would still say it is the issue with codecs. What if you convert your files selecitng another codec for output, for example to MPEG-4 (Divx;xviD)? Does the problem persist? Please try converting with MPEG-4 (Divx;xviD) codec and also to another format, such as MPEG or WMV.

Please inform about the results.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

[REPLY]Vlad[REPLY]

As I do my conversion with the preview screen open. I tried converting to the codec (Divx/xviD), it got to around 13% then the preview screen goes off, and says The preview is unavailable. The program is preparing the data for conversion. I tried a couple of times, the second time it got to around 14% then the same thing happen. Then it froze on me both time, after trying to stop the conversion.

Converting to wmv is fine. Mpeg's are fine.

I've tried converting into other file type, that doesn't make a difference.

Also tried converting into avi, if choose H.264/AVC then it doesn't finish. If choose (Divx/xviD), it freezes on me. I tested one other codec, Microsoft MPEG-4, and that works fine.

I think you are right, it is definitely a codec problem. And it is stopping me from converting anything into mp4 / m4v...

I don't understand this, because I've already downloaded the most updated version to install. And to re-iterate again, it was working fine, haven't touched it or updated it, then when I used it again, this whole situation just started happening...

To expand slightly on the frozen issue with the Divx/xviD codec. When the conversion stops, the elapsed time and things, they do continue counting, it is only when I try to stop the conversion, that it freezes.

Sorry to tell you, it's still the same...

Is there anyway to fix AVSVideoConverterHost.exe. That is definitely the problem.
