Found AVS after a Google search... The adverts and descriptions all seem to be ideal. So far, the truth is different.

Although I have purchased the 'Unlimited Subscription' I only really wish to use Video Converter and Video Editor.
So far, converted one small HD mts file to avi... that worked out fairly OK.

Now using this avi file to learn how to operate the video editor. It is hopeless. The editor freezes every single time after using just one or two functions. Now playing with this editor application and even with no file loaded but just playing with function buttons 'Text' & 'Transitions' & 'Video Effects' the program freezes.

I have emailed the maker / vendor using their support system but zero response.
Now reading all the topics on this forum I believe I am finding out too late that this perhaps is not an expert company producing commercial software but someone's bedroom hobby.

Ah well... it's not too often I get caught by a sham outfit... perhaps it was on the cards... :) :)

Reinstall the program following the instructions.

Please try working with the program again.

Specify the source and format of the video files you are working on.

Do you have that issue while working with any video files?

I see this advice of re-install seems to be AVS standard solution.
I wish it worked as standard too.
The program AVS Video Editor is non-functional.
The program freezes after clicking on any of the following functions, 'Text', 'Transitions' & 'Video Effects' -- the program freezes even with no file loaded for editing.
The program freezes after playing any file in 'Preview' for a few seconds.

Am still waiting for a response from AVS 'Support'

Uninstalled all AVS software
Delete Documents & Settings/AVS
Delete Program files/AVS
Delete Registry items AVS
Re-boot
Install AVS again ... (5th time)

Start Video Editor
No file loaded
... Click Video Effects... Click Ken Robin
Program instantly frozen..

I have tried enough now Alex..
The software does not work..
