I am looking at buying a new standard definition camcorder
the " JVC GZ-MG750 hard disk drive camcorder "

This camcorder records in the .MOD format.
Is this format compatiable with the AVS media software

If it is, does the quality suffer as I have heard that sd card, flash and hard disc based
camcorder are not as high in quality.

Hello

Yes, AVS4YOU software is compatible with MOD format which is HD video format. You can convert MOD videos with AVS Video Converter, edit with AVS Video Editor, cut scenes with AVS Video ReMaker.

As for the quality, our software allows to save videos to HD presets in AVI, MPEG, WMV format, so you will be able to keep HD quality.

Best regards.

Thanks

One point though,

I thought mod format was standard definition
and
tod was hi-definition

My apologies, Simon. You are right, mod files are standard definition and tod files high definition. Thank you for the point in the right direction.

In any case, our software allows to work with mod files and save them to standard definition video files with comparable quality.

You can also rename the extension from MOD to MPG or AVI if you wish.
