i have images of winxp pro 32 bit and 64 bit, I tried using 32 bit this time(first post was with 64 bit)

seems the h264 codec is the promblem?

this screen shot is from winxp pro 32 bit from the event log

Hello,

Could you please give more details about the error:

- specify the format, origin and size of the file you convert;

- inform us whether the error occurs converting just one particular file or several files;

- specify to which format you convert and which profile with output settings you select in the Profile list.

Regards.

from the dvd I use dvd shrink(no compression) to copy main movie to hdd

then load the que with a lot of movies using the video_ts file in batch mode

the settings are h.264 768 settings, only I changed the threads to 4 and deblockng strength to 6 and threshold to 6

it happened with different files and I'm able to play the movie from the hdd folder in nero

as far as an error message in the converter itself, like I said it just disappears(the whole program) I check task manager to see if the process is still running and it's not

so I check the event log and sent the screen shots

I even uninstalled from registry and all and reinstalled, I ran the repair and all was secussful

Thank you for the details. We will test the conversion in the same environment and I will get back to you.

Could you please also specify the origin of your DVD's? Are they usual DVD-movies from store or camera-made?

By the way, do you use AVS Video Converter on a desktop or on a laptop?

usual dvds, store bought
I'm usng on a desktop

I'm wondering if it's not the codec itself?

on the settings when it says "use external codecs for avi" would the converter use an external h264 codec also?

Our program uses internal h.264 codec. However... Do you have k-lite codec pack installed on your PC?

Does that mean that the problem has been solved?

I believe so, the problem was virtual memory, I notice my machine was running sluggish when i was using the converter, I then checked in the task manager to see what the usage was and it was a lot, so I cranked up my virtual memory and so far no problems

I really appreciate your help in this matter

Rick

p.s. I tried a lot of converters and this is by far the best
