Here is my problem: I am using AVS Video Editor and everything is fine with audio unless I use the trim or the split feature. If do that, the audio from those sections is deleted though the other non-edited sections play audio fine.

Any help here.. I did pay for this software. I appreciate that nowadays most software companies do not allow you to call them for support but please monitor the support forum?

If you edit objects on the main video line, objects on the audio mix line get affected. In order to avoid this, just lock the audio mix line prior to editing by clicking on the appropriate button as shown in the screenshot.
Hope I have understood the problem right :-)
