Dear all,

when converting a avi file (ratio 4:3, imported from Sony Handycam HC37) to mpeg (ratio 4:3) the result is always the same. Pictures are stretched in vertical direction with black bands on both sides. All relevant settings were without success. Even the preview picture is stretched and shows the black bands on right hand side and on the left hand side. I am using Windows Vista 32 bit (SP1), AVS Video Converter version 6.2.5.334. I could not found a solution in manual and faq`s.

Has anybody a suggestion?

best regards

Yes, thank you for the files. We have found a solution to this problem :-)

Please save the files attached to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX
If you are asked whether you would like to overwrite the existing .dlls, click on Yes.

Then run the Repair utility in order to register the .dlls:
1. Close AVS Video Converter and all other running programs and applications.
2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

Please write back on the result

(The .dlls have been deleted, as they have been included into the latest update. Update AVS files following Start > Programs > AVS4YOU > AVS Update Manager)

Dear Nadin

Many thanks for support. I executed the workaround as explained in your message. It seems to work.
