I already tried all of those solutions before I made the post on here. I wanted to be sure. LOL.

I'm experiencing this issue as well. I've tried all the suggested fixes in this thread, but the "Memory error" persists.
As others have noticed, VC6 seems to have trouble with AVI files created with my digital camera. All of my media player apps play them without any issue (except for AVS Media Player, which says the format isn't supported). For what it's worth, Video Editor 4.1 gives the same "Memory error" when importing the same files. Video to GO 2.2 gives an error as well, but it reads, "File opening error. Format is not supported. (code: 0x00001032)"

I purchased the AVS "Unlimited" subscription specifically so my wife could manipulate videos we've taken of our baby. Ironically, the AVS programs seem to have singled out those videos as the ones least likely to work. This is a critical problem for me, so let me know what I can do to help you resolve it.

I am having the same memory error message when I try to convert files. I am trying to convert avi to dvd. one day it works great and others it doesn't. I am running VISTA. On days that it doesn't work and gives me a memory error message I have even tried to reconvert a file that I have already converted with this program that worked perfectly and it will not convert them. I have uninstalled the programs and reinstalled them, with little or no luck. Sometimes I can shut my computer down and reboot it and the program starts back working and other times it doesn't. Has anyone for a solution yet. I have a new computer that is only 2 months old, so it shouldn't be a problem with it. Its a dell XPS M1530 w/ 320gb HD, T8100 intel Core2 Duo processor. I am not having any other troubles with my computer just converting videos (sometimes).

Also I can play these files perfectly with my wmp.Works great I just can't convert it.

First try to update AVS files. Follow Start > Programs > AVS4YOU > AVS Update Manager

If the problem persists, also run the Repair utility (you can find it the same way) to make sure all the .dll files are installed properly on your PC. Please inform us whether any of them are not (do not pay any attention to AVSMobileDevice2ActiveSync.dll).

Additionally, we`d need your PC configuration. You can use AVS System Info to generate a report. Please attach it here.

Please try to completely uninstall the software from your PC and download it anew:

1. Start > Control Panel > Programs and features > AVS Video Converter > Uninstall

2. Go Start> Run. Print regedit in the opened window and click OK. In the opened Registry window find and delete all AVS4YOU folders:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).

3. Go Local Disc C > Program Data > AVS4YOU (delete it).
Go Local Disc C > Program Data > Common Files > AVSMedia (delete it).

Now install the program on your PC: http://download.avs4you.com/AVSVideoConverter.exe

I have completely uninstalledthe software and reinstalled it. I am still getting a memory error message at times. After I restart my computer it usually works fine, but at times it still pops up. After I wait a while, I can usually can restart my computer and it will work, or even sometimes I can just wait and the program works without a restart.

Here is the solution offered by our developers:

Follow C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX and delete avscodecs.dll. Then save the files AVSH264Codec.dll and AVSMPEGCodecs.dll attached to this folder. If you are asked whether you would like to overwrite the existing files, click on Yes.

Thanks for the fix.I have done exactly as instructed and all seems to be working well now. Doyou know why I was having this problem that required a fix? Is it from a compatability issue? Is there anything I can or should do to keep this running a it should? Thank You.

I tried the complete uninstall with registry modification, which didn't eliminate the memory error.

This new fix that involves deleting one DLL and replacing two others, however, seems to work perfectly.

Ok, heres my fix. I remembered an old game that gave out memory errors at random. (Game was Thief 2)
The problem was if your drive that it was installed on had 4,8,12,16,20,24....400 ect..(divisible by 4 simply put) gigs of memory used, it would refuse to run. The fix for that works with this, at least for me. Either goto your recycle bin and empty it or goto some big folder and make a copy of it and it will run. Since your getting your memory on your drive off a bad Number.
I belive, not certain, but 256,512 gigs used is the problem here. Im at 255 and its working again. copied to 256 and crash again.

Please first try reinstalling the software following the procedure descibed in post #3485.

If this does not help, run the Repair and specify which .dlls are not installed properly on your PC:
1. Close AVS Video Editor and all other running programs and applications.
2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

Do you get this error with AVI files from the same source? Does the error pop up every time you add these files to the program?

Having struggled with the same problem, now I am truly fed up with this piece of software (AVS Video Recorder vs 6.2). I purchased an Unlimited Subscription for it for ONE specific task, namely converting avi-files to DVD-format. And the only thing I keep getting is the cryptical error message "Memory error".

That is poor programming. The pc in question is a quad-core AMD Phenom II X4 955, with 8 GB og 1600 MHz memory and 2 1-TB harddisks. No chance in hell I'm out of memory, or that the memory is bad for that matter. Now I have followed your instructions twice all the way through, at no avail.

Money well spent? Not so sure anymore.
Pls. advice on further actions.
