When editing an imported , I have a problem getting the text overlay at the end of the video. I have no problem getting the text overlay to work at the beginning of the video, though.
Every time I get tie text into the video , it always shows up (kn the preview) about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way through the video......not the end where I want it.
I tried.....using the instructions from the help file........but with little success.

Help !

Hello,
could you please specify the version of AVS Video Editor program you use? That would greatly help in solving the issue.
Thanx and best regards.

Hello,

actually AVS Video Converter is used to convert video files, not edit them professionally, thus it does not have extended text overlay editing options as, for instance, AVS Video Editor does.

You can still add text effect to your video whatever place you want it - beginning, anyplace in the middle or the end of the video. To do that:

1. Load the video into AVS Video Converter using the 'Browse' button next to the 'Input File Name' field;
2. Click the 'Edit' button to open the 'Edit Input File(s)' window;
3. Add the Text effect using the 'Add' button and selecting 'Add -> Draw -> Text'. The Text effect line will be applied to the whole video length (see the Text1.png image);
4. Use the mouse to change the effect left boundary - the cursor will change its shape and will look like a bidirectional arrow (see the Text2.png image) - and move it to the place you want the text to start. You will not need to move the right boundary if you want the effect to end at the end of the video (thought this boundary can be changed the same way as the left one);
5. Using the 'Preview' window you can change the text on-screen position (see the Text3.png image);
6. You can set the Fade-in/Fade-out areas of the text effect with the mouse - just pay attention to the shape the cursor must take for you to be able to change the Fade-in/Fade-out areas - see the Text4.png image.

Well, that's actually the way any effect can be added and changed using AVS Video Converter. Although, if you plan to use more complex effects we really recommend using AVS Video Editor program for that.

Best regards.

Hi,
that's great that you managed to cope with the text effect in AVS Video Editor. As for the Hebrew and Arabic fonts - the fonts themselves are supported but the right-to-left writing issue encounters some problems, so you might need to write what you want in the Windows Notepad program, for example, and then copy-paste it to AVS Video Editor.
This is surely going to be fixed in the next program versions.
Best regards.

Thanks for your attention to my wish. Pasting works the same as writing. I see ??? in place of the Hebew text.
I think the programmer limits the charset for any code page. Please, take the programmer to some good restaurant
and let him have a good steak and a glass of wine. It can help

Waiting for results if possible. BTW, since Windows 85, Microsoft can be proud to say he has full solution to all
Biderectional languages. This is my first application since then, I am back again 15 years.....;-)

Hi again,

well, we tried and reproduced the Arabic and Hebrew letters in AVS Video Editor 4, they worked with copy-paste in case you set Arabic or Hebrew as primary system language - that is go to the Control panel and select Regional and Language Options - then in the Languages tab check the Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages checkbox (see the attached RegionalOptions1.png) and the Language for non-Unicode programs must also be selected either Arabic or Hebrew (RegionalOptions.png).

As for writing in the program itself, this is hopefully going to be fixed.

Best regards.

- we plan to give our users that button back in the program future versions, its just a shortcoming of the beta stage.

Best regards.

Good evening.

I have one project file that gives problems when starting video editor 4.1.111 . No preview available, can not do anything and software hangs after some seconds (windows XP says AVS Video Editor 4.1 Program not responding)

Other project files work without problem.

Is there a way to rebuild this corrupted file ?

Thanks.

Does anybody know if there is a way of changing the chapter image in Video Editor 4.1 - It automatically assigns the frame at the marker position but I want to use one later in the clip (but keeping the marker at the same place) - any suggestions please?

Hi,

As for the DVD menu Edit.
I'd recommend you to use AVS DVD Authoring, the software dedicated to DVD menu creations.

Please follow this link to AVS Online Help for the detailed information.

Best Regards
