Is there a way that I can save marked places as tracks so that when I burn an audio file to a CD it will move from track to track instead of being all one file? I've made multiple attempts at getting the program to do this but so far no success.

This can be done in the new version of AVS Audio Editor.

First you need to set markers to mark the beginning and end of each track: set the cursor, right-click and choose Add Marker (scr.1).
When all the markers are added right-click and choose Split File by Markers (scr.2).
As a result, you will get multiple tracks in the Files window (unknown(1), unknown(2) etc).
After that save all the files as separate tracks (scr.3)

In order to burn these files onto a CD, use Create Audio CD option availbale in AVS Disc Creator.

Best regards

Is there a way to split a file into smaller pieces and have the resulting smaller file still be in the same format as the original file? Mine are changing from mp3 to pcm and then I have to change them back to mp3, seems kinda silly, not to mention a waste of time.

After you split your file by markers in AVS Audio Editor, you need to click Save All > Save as... and then select output format (MP3) and the output path. There is no option to save to PCM when you work with audio files.
