My desktop rig with an athlon dual core x2 constantly hangs on .wmv and .mpeg transcodes from .mts files. It can convert to .avi just fine, but not the others.

Here is where it gets goofy...

On my Dell Dual Core laptop, seems to run fine on any format.


Even wierder....THe processor utilization seems to go up over time, instead of staying constant...? Any thoughts?

Please attach the detailed specs of your Athlon PC. You can use AVS System Info in order to get a report. Also specify the OS installed.

Open the source video file in the program, click on Advanced > File Information and attach a screenshot of this window.

Which presets do you select when converting to WMV and MPEG? Try choosing lower quality presets. Does the problem persist no matter which ones are chosen?

It seems to be the higher (HD quality) specs that cause the AMD machine the issue.

The CPU runaway issue appears on both intel and AMD machines but is more manageable on the Intel machine.

I noticed the page faults run sky high on both machines by the way.
