I am trying to convert a video using the preset iphone/ipod touch and I get an error saying:

"The conversion with the selected output format settings cannot be done. Please change the format parameters or use one of the preset profiles".

I figured it out. It was a Divx decoder setting.

The only way I can get this preset to work is if I change the video codec within the preset from H.264 to MPEG4.

As already reported within the following topic, the error occurs due to mismatch between the external codec settings and the ones chosen in the program. In your case please could you provide us with the following screenshots:

1. Open the file once again in AVS Video Converter, choose the preset you get the error with, click on Advanced > File Information, make a screenshot of this window and attach it here.

2. Open Edit Profile window and click on Advanced button for video codec settings. Please make screenshots of all the tabs that can be found there.

I actually found that article but I think my situation is different because the PC I am having this issue on is a Vista PC but I tried this on an XP PC with the same exact file and same exact preset and settings, and it works with out a problem.

Maybe I am missing something though.

Our testing team has not managed to reproduce the error, so could you please upload the file you are trying to convert to our FTP server. This would help us to clear up the problem. The instruction will be sent to you shortly.

Please could you also provide us with the following information:
- whether you have administrative permissions on this PC;
- whether UAC (User Account Manager) is enabled. You can check this up either 1) following Start > msconfig > Disable UAC, or 2) following Control Panel > User Accounts > Disable/Enable UAC.

Here are solutions offered by our developers.

First try saving AVSH264Codec.dll attached to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX
If you are asked whether you would like to overwrite the existing .dll, click on Yes.

Then run the Repair utility in order to register the .dll:
1. Close AVS Video Converter and all other running programs and applications.
2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

If this does not help, try running the program in one thread mode. You can do this using the .reg files attached. Double-click on ThreadOne.reg and click on Yes in the new window. Then open AVS Video Converter and check up if the problem persists.

In order to return the program into multithread mode, run ThreadAutoChoise.reg.

PROBLEM I AM FACING:

i am trying to convert Video file to a format which is competable with Iphone3G (Apple iPhone/iTouch - (H.264,640X420), It is refusing to convert and showing me this error "The conversion with selected out put format can not be done. Please change the format parameters or use the Preset Profile"

I have tried different in put file formats ( trying to get the out put format same MP40 it fails. but converting into any other format it is done ok. i have also attached screen short as well. please respond rapidly.

Hi

I'm having the same problem. I've tried the first solution but when I'm extracting the files to the Active X folder, an error message comes up saying that it cannot create AVSH264Codec.dll and that Access is denied.
Can you please help me with this? Thanks.

Do you have administrative permissions on this PC?
Please try disabling your antivirus program for the moment you save the .dlls.

Write back on the result
