I have a project in AVS Video Converter (6.1.2.211) with both jpg and m2ts files. Uploading files into Media Library has worked just fine up to a point. Then, when i've tried to upload some more jpg files, I got the 'file format error' msg. I've tried with several different files from several different locations; uploading just one file or multiple files - the same result.

I've closed and reopened the application and this time i could upload the same files. After a while, it happened again. Closing and reopening the application seemed to solve the problem... at least for the time being.

Though, it's becoming a bit annoying to keep closing and reopening the application

Note:
- 'temporary cache' option is enabled
- at the time i'm writing this post, medila library has 150 jpg files and 49 m2ts files

1. select several jpg files from media library
2.drag the files to Storyboard => 'access violation ...' error msg appeared. I had to terminate the application from TaskManager

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow the link below and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked:

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:

Now install the software on your PC anew.

Hello,

Please try to rename the file. If the issue remains please install K-Lite Codec Pack. Than follow Start/All programs/K-Lite Codec Pack/Tools/Media Info.
Run the Media Info import the MP4 file and send us screenshot with the generated information.

I've just downloaded AVS Video Converter 8.2 in order to convert my Blu-ray's but I keep getting "file format error". The file is on a Blu-ray disc and is 18.7GB in size.

AVS Media player also gives the same error when trying to play the file.

Hello,

Make sure that BDs you are working with are not protected by copyright. AVS Software doesn't allow you to process protected data.
To resolve the issue, please do the following:
- copy the BD to a root folder on your harddrive (the directory of the input file should be as short as possible (like C:\);
- make sure you add index.bdmv file to AVS Video Converter (here are more getailed guidelines on converting BDs);

Please note, that AVS Media Player doesn't have blu-ray support (supported formats). You can add .m2ts files from STREAM folder to play back in AVS Media Player.

I have a .mov file that I am trying to convert to a different format. It is 28.46 MB. a Motion JPEG A, 640x480, Millions 8-bit unsigned integer, mono, 8.00 kHZ. It only lasts 37.2 seconds. I have no problems open it with Quicktime but AVS will not even open the file for conversion. The error message that I get is "file format error."

Any ideas?

The MOV file is created by a Kodak Easyshare M873 Digital Camera. Any of the movies the camera makes are uploaded onto the computer as .mov files. I need to covert them to a divx format, I will attach a small one to this reply. It is not the same one I listed before but it has the same error as all the other files.

The smallest file I have is 14 meg. I was unable to attach the file here... If you have another way to let me send you the file please let me know.

I am also having trouble converting any of my .mov files, which is very frustrating since I bought AVS Video Converter 6.2 specifically to convert my .mov. I am also using .mov files shot with a Kodak Easy Share digital camera.

I browse for a .mov file and click the open button when I find the one I want to convert. AVS Video Converter 6.2 gives me an error message, which says "file format error."

I am using a Dell Latitude D610, Windows XP.

I'm attaching a .mov file for you to examine.

Did you try simply to rename it to .mpg ?
That's what I found with my JVC Camcorder...

Well, that would negate the reason I bought the AVS Video Converter in the first place. If I could simply save the .mov file as an .mpeg, I would have been able to use it in Windows Movie Maker and other applications without buying AVS.

Also, I would have to buy Quick Time Pro to save the file in another format.
