I am trying to rip audio CDs using Audio Grabber and the CDDB function is not properly working. Yet, this works fine in Winamp 5.541 and Windows Media Player 11. I am using Media Player to rip for now.

Hello,

Sorry indeed for the inconvenience occurred.

We work with freedb CDDB. The software you listed above, work with other data bases. So, that is not the software but the database issue. In any case we will try to solve this issue.

Best Regards

excuse me, but I think you are wrong. The three programs:

Exact Audio Copy
Nero 8
Wavelab 6

worked fine with freedb CDDB. I tested them all some minutes ago,
and all the programs gets the right informations for the CD
I worked with ( Aerosmith; Honkin´On Bobo *OK* ).

Sorry, but I have to say it again: The CDDB function of
Audio Grabber Version 4.1.1.211 is not working.

Hello Roland,

In fact we tried it out, and the CDDB function worked.

We will be very obliged to you, if you send us the ID of the disc you grab (DISCID) that it has on the www.freedb.org
That could help us to solve the issue.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Ok, I believe that it will work on your system.
But you can believe me, CDDB will not work on my system *SOS*

I tested it with several other CD´s.

Can you, or one of the other users please give me the settings
(under the point options) which let CDDB work.

Roland

Hi again,

In fact, we found the reason of the problem and that is to be solved. We plan to release the version of the AVS Audio CD Grabber with the correct work of the CDDB on Monday evening.

So, please wait while the corrected version is available on the site.

Thank you very much for the collaboration.

I'm guessing that since all links and downloads for Audio CD Grabber are gone you've discontinued the product, now that grabbing CD audio to MP3 (et al.) is now a function within Audio Converter 6.1. It wouldn't make any difference to me, except that the new program doesn't do as much as the old program. Specifically, AC6.1 doesn't seem to support audio tag completion via CDDB.

I'd just keep using Audio CD Grabber, but due to a recent hard drive failure I have to re-download everything. Are there plans to implement CDDB access in AC6.X anytime soon? It's a huge time-saver, and I miss it.

Thanks in advance.

I am extracting some tracks of a usual CD in MP3 format, using the Audio Converter 6.1. But the tracks are coming: track 1, track 2, etc. I would like to have the name of each track, as we find in the CD, but how can I get that?
I remember, in the ancient "Audio Grab" we had the option to get in the internet the names of the tracks, . Don't we have anymore?
It's a big work to rename each track, typing every letter.
Thanks

As already indicated in this thread, this option is currently unavailable, but we are planning to restore it in the next version of the program.

Because these changes I am grabbing mp3 from Cds using other software, of other company.
The same happens with the AVS Video Converter 6.1, which doesn't work with RMVB formats anymore. RMVB is very used in my country, so I need a software which work with this video format. I had to search other software to this function, in other place.
It's seems for me changes for worst, not the opposite.
Anyway, I am glad to know these function can be back in the next versions of the AVS softwares.
Regards.

Hello!

Unfortunately, CDDB option became unavailable in AVS4YOU programs since the FreeDB was shut down on March 2019.
For now, we can't say when it will available again.
