Hello to you,
Neither Converter 6.4, nor Editor 4.2 can handle the FLV (90 MB) I'd like to convert to AVI. Its compression is 'On2 VP6 flipped'. The audio is okay, but the pic is frozen on the #1 frame before editing.
NB: I can play the FLV with Martijn de Visser's Flv Player version 2.0, not with the 1.3 version.
Do you think the prob could be fixed with an added dll or codec?
Tnx in advance - JJ

Hello,

Please try using the latest versions AVS Video Converter 8.0 and AVS Video Editor 6.0 which are available on our website www.avs4you.com

If it does not help, we need to have your file, could you please share it?

Best regards.

- Thanks for your reply
- Installed both Converter 8 and Editor 6, unfortunately to no avail. The file still shows the first frame only. Apart from that, Editor 6 is not for me -- lack of memory-- and I find the layout of the older version easier to work with. Couldn't find older versions between 4 and 6 (if there was any) on your site, so I rushed back to 4.2.1.188.
- Nonetheless, I attached a 'problem file' fragment. Perhaps it will work with some added dll. If not, no big problem since I don't have to convert this specific flv type very often.
Thanks again - JJ

Hello,

Thank you for the file attached. I've forwarded it to our developers, so that they could analyze the problem and make necessary corrections. As soon as there are any news from them I will get back to you.

We are sorry to hear such negative feedback about AVS Video Editor version 6. Could you please describe the problem with it in details? We will do our best to solve them.

Best regards.

Hello To: Vlad

Can't go into details really, since I can't analyse thoroughly because it's no longer on my machine. However, it appears that my 1GB RAM is not enough for the 6, which's layout is more tailored for those who produce videos themselves than the earlier version. Is okay but I only need it for editing news casts and things like that.
Waiting for the flv solution to arrive, with rgds and thanks - JJ

Hello JJ,

We have tested your FLV file. Actually, it is broken. It does not play properly in most media players. There are broken time markers in the file. We are sorry about the problem, but, unfortunately, we cannot fix it.

Best regards.

Thanks To: Vlad

Although I can't edit, I can use these files for embedding purposes when necessary. Okay then.

Just want to tell you that I succeeded in converting the crummy flv to avi, with Pazera flvtoavi.exe (using the codec MP42-S-Mpeg4 version 2). The produced avi is faultless and can be edited further in AVS.
However, as said earlier, I can also embed the untreated file on my website and it plays with no probs.
