Still experimenting with the trial download...okay I managed to knock out a few shots from a clip, join the remaining ones on the timeline... now I'd like to add a fade in from black at the top and a fade to black at the end of the clip. This has got to be one of the simpler things to accomplish on the editor - but damned if I can figure out how.

Hi, I too could use help to do a simple fade-in from black and fade-out to black. There appear to be many fade options in the Editor program, however, I could not find a simple fade to black. Thanks.

OK, I found the answer from other threads: add black color after main video (the colors are available in Media Library), then insert Fade Solid transition between the main video and the color. Obviously fade-in would be the reverse order. Thanks.

Hello,

Sorry for the late answer.

Yes, you are quite right - adding black collor and a Fade transition at the beginning/end of a video is the right way to Fade In/Out video in AVS Video Editor.

If you need any assistance, we are here to help.

Regards.

I did that and it works, but how do I make the fade transition occur more slowly ??

thanks

You should change duration of a transition. Click right mouse button on a fade transition, choose Transition in the context menu and change Transition duration. You can find the details here.
