Hi.

I have an unlimited license, but Zone Alarm keeps telling me that VC needs access to the Internet.(every time I run it)

Why?

Once the license has been applied and approved(and it has), why should VC want to covertly talk to the Internet?
I don't allow any such access without an explanation either via a message on the screen, or from the application developer.

In this case, it will have to come from the developer, as there are never any messages indicating why Internet access should be needed. As of today, VC will be denied access to the Internet and automatically blocked in Zone Alarm, as I really don't like programs accessing the net without knowing exactly why they need to.

Perhaps AVS could explain why VC needs Internet access beyond the need to validate the license.

Thanks.

Hi,

The access is needed to check whether new version of AVS Video Converter ver.5 is available on the official download page. But that is optional:
Check Every
- day,
- week,
- month,
- three months,
- never

At the first lanch you can choose never and it will not ask for an Internet

AVS Video Converter ver.6 do not ask for updates cheking.
