Hi,

I have a DVD-RW recorded in VR-mode. I tried to convert this into another video format. When opening the video, I select the .IFO file and get an error message "Dateiformatfehler", as I use German language. Translated this is "file format error".

I'm not able to open that video with the latest version of the AVS Video Converter 6.

When I try to view the video using the AVS DVD Player, it works fine. Also when I use the Video Remaker to "convert" the video to MPEG it works without any problems.

Does anybody has an idea why I can open this video with the Player and the ReMaker and not with the Converter? Is there any setting that I should configure?

Hello Frank,

I think you can try to use VOB file for the conversion. Follow that link to the topic on our forum, for the detailed information.

Hello,

as this is a DVD-RW in VR mode, there is no VOB file. This DVD format has a VRO file that cannot be opened directly with the Video Converter. The Converter only offers to open the IFO file.

Hi,

In case when you have a DVD-VR, we recommend to choose vr_movie.vro files.

But as you fail to do it, there may be a bug. We will check it out and inform you about the results.

To help us to solve the problem, please specify the source of the file. If it is a camcoder or a player, please send us the exact model of the device.

The file was recorded using the DVD- & HDD recorder DR-MH200SE from JVC.

Remember, the same files can be opened with the Player and the ReMaker.

Please,

Try to drag-and-drop the VRO (vr_movie.vro) file to the converter.

You need to import either VIDEO_TS.IFO file from VIDEO_TS folder, or the largest .VRO file from VIDEO_RM folder. As suggested by Dam, try to drag and drop either of these files to the program.

Inform us on the result

Yes, absolutely sure that I collect my files in the same folder as
VR_MANGR.BUP
VR_MANGR.IFO
VR_MOVIE.VRO
Yes, I choose the last files to process

So. I was recorded for 5 days 'n separate to 5 folders.
I can't process some days [mean some files].
but some available.

That's my doubt about it.

I'll tell my model DVD-RW recorder later b'cuz I leave it at University.

Thx

Are vr_movie.vro files you have failed to import into the program played correctly in a player on your PC?
If yes, could you please send us one of them (the smalles one). Or better record a new file small in size and, in case you fail to convert it, send it to us for testing. I will contact you per e-mail with the instruction.

Thank you
