I need to produce a NTSC version of an existing PAL DVD.... can anyone advise the best way of achieving this, retaining the chapters etc...?

You need to import VIDEO_TS.IFO file into AVS Video Converter, choose To DVD and select one of the NTSC profiles. As soon as the video is converted, you will be able to burn the DVD straightaway. However, note that the menu and chapters will be lost this way. You can only set them anew in the program.

Best regards

Thanks for that, Nadin, but I was rather hoping there was some way of doing it to preserve the menu and chapters. If there isn't it means I'll have to put it into a DVD authoring program and that could be quite fiddly as I will need to extract all the menu and chapter details from the original manually.

Most likely, in the next version of AVS Video Converter chapters from a DVD menu will be recognized (shown as markers on the timeline), so you will not need to re-set them from scratch. As for the menu, its recognition is a very complex task and will not be implemented in the near future.

Dear Nadin, so do we have to convert the DVD film 2 times?
In the first time we get the NTSC DVD, but without the menus.
So, we need to convert this NTSC movie again to build the menu with chapters - using the AVS video converter. Is that correct?

Hello,

Nadin meant that existing DVD menu will be lost, however you can create your own menu even at the first conversion. So you need to convert your DVD only once.

Best regards.

Yes, I understand it.
But and related to DVD codes area? The issue PAL x NTSC is not the same than DVD codes areas 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
If I have a DVD from Europe, so, probably region 2, to transform it in a DVD region 1 ( of my place, South America ), must I
do the procedure with the AVS video Converter 7.1?
