If I use the "noise remover" on an entire song it seems to reduce the volume.
If I use the "amplify" tool to boost the volume back up, am I wasting my time??

I would assume that after this I would have a loader song with improved fidelity.

Thanks Don

It all depends on a particular file. However, Noise Remover and Amplify filters function in a different way, so noises removed should not appear again after you boost the volume using Amplify.

How do you remove a 'noise' in a recording using AVS Audio Editor? The 'noise' I am referring to is like a 'pop' in the
middle of a live recording when the word starts with a letter 'P'. It happened a couple of times in one song recording.
After opening using the Audio Editor, when you play the song you can see the waveform sticks out when the 'noise' part
of the song is hit.

Try applying the Noise Remover filter to the appropriate parts of your audio track containing the noise. Here is the complete information about how to use this effect.

I formerly used Cool Edit 2000. It had a noise reduction routine similar to that on AVS.

BUT it had several built in profiles such as:

Old Record Clicks pops & hiss
Constant Hiss
Lots Of Clicks
Hiss & Crackle
High Hiss
Light Hiss
Standard Hiss

AVS lists two defaults: Hiss Reduction and Hummmmm Reduction

I am hoping someone with greater audio skills than myself has developed a group of noise reduction profiles they would be willing to share or sell.

Thanks,

Andy Hollander

Dear Andy Hollander,

I will pass your suggestion about several other noise remover profiles to our developers.

Actually you can create your own noise remover profile spesific for your audio files, to do this you need to show the program the part of the file with noise (and without audio), then applying that filter will delete the spesified noise from your audio:

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Kind regards

In fact, to get rid of that anoying sound "pop" like (is called "poof") you have to select the moment when it happens and get the frequencies from 500 down (to 20)Hz almost OFF. The second step, if needed, is about amplitude (volume).

I hope it helps...

Hello!

To amplify volume for videos we can recommend you to use AVS Video Editor, as AVS Audio Editor has a limited number of supported formats and video codecs.

Please follow the link to learn how to amplify volume in AVS Video Editor.

If you have any questions left, feel free to ask!

Best regards
