So I'm putting together a home video. The idea is that there will be a series of short video clips with a song playing in the background. The problem I'm having is whenever I try to adjust the length of a particular video clip or make splits to delete a part of the video clip, thus changing the length of that particular clip, the audio underneath is automatically adjusted to fit the amount of video that was removed or shortened. This obviously causes a jump in the song that's playing underneath. I can see how this is a useful feature sometimes but for what I'm intending to do it's a major hustle. There has to be a way to change this setting but I can NOT find it. I've read through the userguide and watched I don't know how many video how-to's but nothing I've found addresses this issue.

Anyone know how to correct this? Or do I need to remove and replace the audio track every time I edit a video clip.
