Everything was working fine until I finally downloaded the new version yesterday. Now when I render a video, some of the clips freeze in the video. The audio continues. The video freezes. The full video had files from MP4 videos and an MKV video. The MP4 videos are freezing. The MKV is not. The MKV is 24 frames per second. The MP4 videos are 29. I do not know if this makes a difference, but these are the commonalities.

I reinstalled my old version (8) in hopes of fixing the problem. Even with my old version, the new problem persists. I tried uninstalling altogether and then reinstalling. The problem persists. PLEASE. HELP. I edit videos for a living. I need immediate assistance. I don't want to have to use Sony Vegas. It's cumbersome. For my money, AVS Video Editor is the most user friendly editing software, and I don't want to switch now.

Please respond. Thank you.

Hello. Please tell us about the configuration of your PC (Windows version, CPU and video cards). Also, first of all, try to change the option:
Settings -> Acceleration -> Intel Media decoder -> Type -> Auto / Hardware / Software / Disabled.
Settings -> Acceleration -> Intel Media decoder -> Mode = Preview and conversion

It last versions AVSVideoConverter 11.0.1.632 and AVSVideoEditor 9.0.1.328 we have updated the version of software Intel Media decoder for Windows 7/8/8.1/10: now library libmfxsw32.dll v.7.17.4.21 (2017 year) is used instead of v.3.12.7.27 (2012 year). Please try different variants of the decoder changing option "Intel Media decoder - Type".

Also tell us if the problem appears on the preview or after the conversion in the output video file.
You can try to change the type of video rendering:
Settings -> Preview -> Video rendering = Use video buffer.

Windows 7. AMD Athlon II X2 265 Processor. 3.30 GHZ. GeForce GT 610.

I tried to change to Auto, Hardware, Software and Disabled. All attempts had the same freezing result. I also tried to change to Use Video Buffer. Same result. I don't know why this is happening. You said that it's because something changed in the new version, but I uninstalled the new version and switched back to the old version. Did something linger in my computer from the new version that it's still affecting the old version I'm now using or something?

This is confusing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Please send to us the examples of MP4 video that are freezing now.

Also tell us if the problem appears on the preview of input files or after the conversion in the output video file.

No, it does not show the error in the preview. It only appears in the video file. I attached an example.

As I understand, TESTING.avi and TESTING2.mp4 are the output files after AVS Video Editor. We need the input files(s) (source) for testing.

There's some problems with decoding of that video file on versions of Intel Media decoder of 2017-2018 years (hardware and software). And there's some problems with video caching.

We recommend you next settings for work with that video:
Settings -> Acceleration -> Intel Media decoder -> Type = Disabled .
Settings -> Environment -> Processing high definition files = No cache .

I appreciate the effort, but I found a different fix. Everything is fine now. I used the AVS Uninstaller program and installed an earlier version of AVS Video Editor. Looks like it's working correctly now. I guess I just won't update the editor. Thank you for your time.

Please answer some more quastions.

What is the version of AVSVideoEditor do you currently have on your PC? What is your version of Windows? Is it Windows 10 1803 or 1809 (Win+R - winver)? What is your CPU model? And what is the value of the option "Settings -> Acceleration -> Intel Media decoder -> Type" now in old AVS Video Editor?
