Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help with this issue. Created two AVI files from a single 23.976 source using (...). Speeded-up each one to 25 fps using (...). Now, after I make a PAL DVD with AVS Video Converter 8, the playback begins to judder at the point corresponding to second file. If I load this same AVI file in to AVS Video Converter on its own and create a PAL DVD, the playback is fine.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Dear John,

Please try toelect DVD Pal profile that is closest in settings to your input fiole parameters in frame rate, frame size. Click on the Advanced button after selecting the format.

Please inform about the result.

Kind regards .

Hi Nat,
Thanks for your response. The settings for input file 1 and input file 2 are identical:

Video codec: MPEG4 (DIVX/XVID compatible)
Frame size: 1024 x 576
Bitrate: 761
Frame rate: 25 f/s
Audio codec: PCM
Sample rate and size: 44100hz 16bit
Bitrate 705.6kbps

PROFILE: DVD PAL Good Quality

If I create a DVD using just AVI file 2, there is no problem. Similarly, when I reverse the order of the files so that file 2 is top of the list, there is no problem - both segments playback properly. Only after I create a DVD using file 1 and file 2 in sequence, is there an issue with segment 2. Any ideas?
Thanks
Nat

Dear user,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

The issue is connected with the first file, it has incorrect ending.

What you can try to do to avoid the issue is cut the end of the file or use AVS Video ReMaker to remake it.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Kind regards

Thanks. I had assumed (wrongly) that the issue was caused by AVS Video Converter, because a third party converter was able to convert the files without issue. There must be a problem with the DUB program I am using to split these files. The solution for me was simply to run the affected file (File 1) through the DUB software a second time. After doing this, the conversion was successful.

Thanks for your help,
JC
