I just downloaded AVS4You to convert WMA audio files into MP3 audio files. I receive an information message when I try to add a WMA file that reads: "One or more files could not be opened".
Has anyone else experienced this and, do you have any solutions to resolve this issue?

Hello,

Please specify whether you have that problem with a single WMA file? If yes, please attach that file to the post, to help us to reproduce the error.

Please also try to provide us with the following information:
- the operating system you use
- attach your PC configuration

Hope to hear from you soon.

The issue is occuring with the majority of my WMA files that I've downloaded from my monthly subscription to iTunes.
I'm not at my computer right now to give you it's configuration, but have cut/pasted the information from my Dell account page. Let me know if this helps. Otherwise, can you tell me how best to attach my "PC configuration"?

Dell PC - XPS/Dimension 700 series. Operating system is XP.
- DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE..., 1G, 667M, 128X64, 8, 240, 2RX8
- PROCESSOR..., 6400, 2.13, 2M, CORE DUO-CONROE..., BURN 2...
- CARD (CIRCUIT)..., GRAPHICS..., 256, 7900, GS, HMGA14
- CARD (CIRCUIT)..., MULTI-MEDIA..., AUDIO..., SB0467
- HARD DRIVE..., 320G, S2, 7.2K, 16M, LEAD FREE..., SGT-TN
- HARD DRIVE..., 250G, S2, 7.2K, 3.5, WD-HAWK
- ASSEMBLY..., COMPACT DISK READ WRITE/DIGITAL VIDEO DISK DRIVE COMBO..., 48, TOSHIBA SAMSUNG STORAGE TECHNOLOGY..., Serial ATA..., BLACK...

I don't know if this gives you what you need. Let me know, otherwise I will have to respond later when I am at my computer. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Perhaps this is easier to read:

Dell XPS Dimension 700 series PC, with XP operating system.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo processor x6800 Extreme (2.93 GHz)
Ram: 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM;
Hard Drives - Two hard drives - 320GB and 250 GB, serial ATA 7,200rpm hard drives;
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX x 2 (SLI), 512 MB
Two 512MB GeForce 7900 GTX cards.

I hope this information is more helpful.

Hello,

Thank you for the information.

But we will be also glad to:

- receive a WMV file that you are trying to convert. Please attach it to the post
- know what Windows Media Player version you have

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yes. The files concerned are the cover album files or any other extension that is not in the convert process.

For example, I converted my .WMA files to MP3 , and the folder.jpg (album cover) is rejected. The message don't concern the audio files you want to convert. No worries.

I have just returned from vacation and now have some time to attempt to resolve this problem. The following is an email I last received from your support team:
****************************
Hello,
Thank you for the information concerning your PC.
Could you be so kind to specify:
if you are able to open this file anywhere (f.ex. in AVS DVD Player)?
Please, inform us at what exact moment the error message appears.
It would be nice if you make a screenshot of the PC configuration: right-click My Computer, choose Properties, make a screenshot of the General bookmark.

To make a screenshot, please,
- press PrtScn to copy the screenshot to the clipboard
- open a graphics editing program (e.g. Microsoft Paint, select Start\Run..., enter 'mspaint' and press OK to start it)
- press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot from the clipboard
- save the image in PNG format
- attach the image file to your email .
Thank you in advance for the information.
Best regards, Olga Yurlova

My Response:
I have attached a copy of my screen shot.
The answer to the question of whether I can open: f.ex. in AVS DVD Player - - No. After downloading to my computer, I am unable to find "f.ex" in this program.

I have attached a copy of the WMA music file I am attempting to convert to am MP3 file:

Hello,

Thank you very much for the file. In fact, this file is copy protected, the drm is used, so, that is impossible to convert that file with the AVS software.

Best Regards

When I try to add a file from iTunes to convert I get the "no items match your search" after opening the album folder. It locates the artist and the album but not the song. I checked the file path from iTunes and confirmed the location on my C: drive and the song plays from iTunes but AVS Audio Converter can't locate it. Please advise, TIA.

Hello,

Please send us a screenshot of the error. Specify what AVS4YOU software you use. Please note, AVS4YOU software is not able to process protected files.

Best regards.

I purchased AVS4you to convert wma files to mp3. All my WMA files get a format error message. I can not convert anything.
The AVS Sup[ort have not been helpful. They give me instructions that do not work.
